do no harm:
idit dobb-weinstein: "teaching is action and thinking at once. What I try to guard against most when I teach is not speaking as if my answer were conclusive, so as to avoid (to the extent possible) any kind of dogmatic appropriation. It is understandable why students might wish to imitate their teachers, but there are different modes of imitation. I try very hard to avoid the mimetic appropriation that is immediate, passive, and occludes thinking. One other reason is that if I made clear what my views were, and my views appeared as if they were final, it would preclude the possibility of first, students challenging me and second, learning from my students. The relation between the student and teacher is, to me, a dynamic relationship . . . Teaching and learning is a movement that occurs between. In other words, we are at once both agent and patient, both teacher and learner. If we are not very careful, we can do a great deal of harm. And that, too, I have learned from my teachers, Maimonides especially.
I believe my task is to provoke students to think and to engage them in genuine dialogue and questioning. To paraphrase a rabbinic saying, 'I have learned from my teachers, and I have learned from my peers, but I have learned most from my students.' And that is a continuous process of learning."

Rape In Camaroon
the unquestioning promotion of male dominated witchcraft cults in camaroon by brian bartelt at anthropology class at LACC failed to provide an integrated look at how validating male dominated power structures disservices women, who face rape in camaroon.
his verbally abusive and discriminatory conduct to women in the classroom at LACC reaffirmed his lack of awareness or compassion for rape and other forms of gender discrimination as an obstacle to women's equality.

occupy student cuts
Dear MARY ENG, In December 2011, President Obama signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2012 (Public Law 112-74). This law has significantly impacted the Federal Pell Grant Program. Effective July 1, 2012, students are now limited to the equivalent of 12 full-time semesters (or 600%) of Federal Pell Grant eligibility during their lifetime. This change affects all students regardless of when or where they received their first Federal Pell Grant. Students that have already used 600% of their Pell Grant eligibility will no longer be eligible to receive a Pell Grant starting summer 2012.You are receiving this email because the federal government recently notified us that during your lifetime you have received the equivalent of 9.42 full-time semesters (or 470.83%). If you are currently enrolled in school you may have actually received more than what’s indicated in this correspondence. You are encouraged to be conscious of the lifetime limit of the Federal Pell Grant when changing majors and/or scheduling classes. Also, you may want to consider other sources of financial aid. The following link will take you to an excellent publication that discusses federal, state, and private financial aid resource, Fund Your Future. You may view your percentage of Federal Pell Grant used by logging into NSLDS.ed.gov. Access to the site requires you to use the same PIN that you used when you filed your FAFSA. Your ‘Lifetime Eligibility Used’ percentage will be displayed in the ‘Grants’ section. The percentages are based on the annual award at fulltime enrollment status. For example, for students with an annual award for 2011-2012 academic year, enrolled in 12 or more credits in each semesters (Fall and Spring for example), the percentage used for the 2011-2012 academic year is 100%. If you only attended 9 credits for two semesters, your percentage used for the academic year would be 75%. Please note that Los Angeles City College doesn’t have historical Pell Grant data and can’t answer specific questions related the percentage of Pell Grant that you have used. Answers to your questions may be obtained by calling 1800-4FEDAID.ll inquiries should be directed to the data that was used to calculate the Sincerely, The Financial Aid Departmentobama was in town doing his 40k a plate fundraiser with george clooney last night.

sociologist william eckford wanted to talk to me about "vagina" and made my fellow-students cry in special one-on-one sessions and then william eckford told LA Lawyer keith fink to jump in a creek and "i am going to hang up on your dumb ass"
when enquiring about their suppression of my expose blog which documented epithets and slurs in the classroom---
over speaker phone in keith's west LA office
i was starting to get afraid of violence on campus---
as LACC and the board coverred up for the sexist professors who called women "slut" "whore" "tits and ass" "cheesecake" from the LACC classroom.

Occupy Pepper Spray Davis
isn't it funny that i was fighting the sexism in the school as it incites tears, anger, etc.
little did we know the California School system would start Pepper Spraying students in the eyes as a part of the Chemical Weapons program.
in a way, i'll never know what stings more, the sexism of a professor, or pepper spray in the eyes.
either way, i'd rather have a fair and just society.
here is a tentative ruling from the Occupy UC Davis Pepper Spray Ejaculation.
Occupy Pepper Spray Grillo UC Davis Tentative Ruling
should we cook the books, or not?
